Horseback Riding Lessons

Private and Semi-private lessons are available 7 days a week 8:30 am - 7:00 pm on non-camp days, and 3:30 pm - 7:00 pm on camp days.

Private lessons are strongly encouraged, and are required for all first time riders. This provides a safe learning environment, and ensures that the rider receives the individual attention they need and deserve.

Students wishing to participate in a camp session must first take at least two private lessons prior to the first day of camp (some exceptions made).

Lessons are available to ALL ages.  No one is too young or too old to ride!

  • Regular 1 hour private lessons - $60.00
  • Semi-Private/Group Lessons - $40.00
Every lesson includes grooming, tacking, and untacking the horse.

Horse Shows

Although High Meadows Farms is not a "competitive show" farm, we do provide an opportunity to participate in some local schooling shows for those who are interested. They are simply fun learning experiences that any level rider is welcome to attend. The classes range from lead-line (showing with an instructor next to you) to walk/trot/canter and everything in between! They are friendly, non-competitive, educational enviornments where the judges often talk to participants following a class with praise and tips on how to do better next time.  Anyone who is even slightly interested is welcome to attend - even as just a "groom" to check it out!  You won't be disappointed! The one hitch is that we do leave EARLY in the morning - usually between 6-6:30 a..m.  So set your alarm and go to bed early!  You have a fun-filled day of riding ahead!

Level 3+ riders are invited to attend 2-phase eventing shows at various locations during the spring and fall season. The two phase shows are also schooling expierences, but are based around "dressage" (flat pattern work) and jumping.

We encourage our students to develop a vast outlook on different types of riding before settling down, or deciding they're all too fun to
chose one! Showing, much like lessons, is versitle and changes for each student on a case-by-case basis. Students are welcome to go to as
many, or as few, as they would prefer; it is not a pressured environment.
